Welcome to Joy Discovered! My name is Jodi. I live in Southern California with my husband and two children. I love the weather here; anything under 72 degrees and I have to wear layers! Eating out for lunch, especially on a sunny day, is one of my favorite things to do. I love going to the movies in the middle of the day. I love a nice clean kitchen. I love spending time by myself. I love the sound of laughter. I love the challenge of learning something new. I love hand written letters. I collect quotes. I love to read and I love books. I love spending time with my family. I love to create things with my hands. I am connected to my joy and consider myself pretty happy and optimistic, too. I work hard every day to make life meaningful, fun, loving, and connected. I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment on any of my posts or send me an email at joydiscovered@gmail.com. Thank you for reading my blog!

Hi Jodi,
What a cool site! I am also learning to play the guitar and my fingers hurt so much!! But it gives me joy and hopefully the calluses will come sooner rather than later. I hope you and the kids are doing well! Carson started kindergarten and loves it! Did you ever find your way to Jackson Hole? We went last summer and had another great vacation there! You have to make it there someday!

Jodi – I think we knew each other in a past life
First – My love of reading almost ties my love of breathing. Books are as necessary as oxygen!
Second – To do lists…where do I start?
Third – creative projects, writing, thinking my own book into existence…
Have you read Malcolm Gladwell’s other two books?
Peggy
Hi Peggy, I think we must have known each other in a past life! I am glad we reconnected!
I agree with you, books are definitely as necessary as oxygen! And I am relieved to know I am not the only obsessive list maker! Creative projects are the greatest way for me to slow down and get re-connected. My projects are a great outlet for me. I have read Malcolm Gladwell’s books Outliers and Blink (both of which I wrote about in my “books” category if you would like to check that out). I am on the waitlist through my library to check out The Tipping Point. I can’t wait. I think Gladwell’s facts and theories are brilliant. Thank you so much for leaving your comment! Have a great weekend! Jodi at Joy Discovered

Wow Jodi, I’m so glad I found your blog through the website Blogging Without A Blog.
I thought I was the only book junkie. I need books more than I need anything else. I also live in Southern California, near family and love it. I try to write every night on my blog, and I hope you come and visit me. I’m old enough to be your grandmother and wish I could have started my life at a much younger age. (I’m talking about writing, didn’t start till late 90’s. Keep us the good work and I look forward to reading everything you write about. Love and kisses Helne
Hi Helene, I will definitely come and visit your blog, I can’t wait! I was just telling a friend today about my book obsession. I love books as objects, almost as much as I love reading. I used to “dream” about being locked in a bookstore overnight and having hours upon hours to peruse the shelves in total peace! A little cooky, I realize, but what can I say? It is nice to know another book junkie!
We will have to compare notes on our favorites. Thank you so much for stopping by here and for your very supportive and kind comment. I am happy to know you and I look forward to corresponding more.
Jodi, I’m new to your blog and I love your description of yourself here and your blog header! Fall is just starting here and the image captured the season beautifully. I look forward to reading more of your blog.
Hi, Jodi.
I saw your comment on Nadia’s blog and was struck by the word “joy” in your title. I’m a Yoga writer, but I’m starting to learn that there’s a great deal of commonality between Yoga philosophy and modern spiritual thinkers. So you might enjoy http://YogaDemystified.com.

Bless you so much for your helping hand.

Reading your description made me chuckle. I’m so much like you. I love movies in the middle of the day, spending time by myself, hand written letters, and the challenge of learning something new. That’s awesome!
May I say that your information has helped me considerably, keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, Erwin! Please stop by again!
