Yesterday I wrote about using positive affirmations to help you with the big goals you have for your life. Affirmations also work for very small changes you want to make in your day to day life. Affirmations come in handy when you are trying to make or break a habit, change your perspective on something or just work on your overall happiness. Here are some examples:
- I wake every morning at six, energetic and ready to bounce out of bed.
- I am patient and loving with my children.
- I think my thoughts through before speaking.
- I see the best in those around me.
- I am beautiful inside and out.
- I believe in myself and know I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.
- I am open to all that the universe has to offer me.
- I trust my inner voice and listen for it in all situations.
- I am realistic in how I approach my day and my to-do list.
- I am accountable to me; I follow through on the promises I make to myself.
If any of these speak to you, add them to your list from yesterday, as well as any others that come to mind. Remember to read your affirmations daily! The energy generated by reading these affirmations and internalizing them creates a space between your thoughts and your actions. In other words, this will create a space for you to think about how you behave before you do it, so that automated dysfunctional habits cease to be . In this way, you create the space to make change and improve.

Jodi,
Thank you for writing this article. It is very important that people do understand that affirmations can be used for short-term simple goals or long-term goals.
I sometimes refer to these as aspirational affirmations and incremental affirmations. Thank you helping to spread the power of affirmations to your readers.
Stay inspired!

Hi Ray! Thank you so much for reading Joy Discovered and taking the time to write a comment! I like your aspirational and incremental affirmation terms very much. How appropriate!
